We are living under an ecological crisis born and sustained by capitalist’s pursuit of profit over people and the planet. Hundreds of thousands of protesters descended onto the UN Climate Summit this September to stand in the way and show that the world cannot wait for a new direction. There is a developing movement that is shining a spotlight on the forces that refuse to put the sustainability of our planet ahead of profitable production. But many questions remain unanswered:
• Is capitalism compatible with an ecologically sustainable society?
• What would it take to force the ruling elite to take the measures that would be required to protect our earth and the people on it?
• Is there an alternative we can live to see?
Despite the scale of what we face, we believe a world is possible in which we meet the needs of all people without consuming our planet in order to satisfy the needs of an exploitative system.
