The Standing Rock Sioux, joined by thousands of allies from across the country and the world, have faced police violence for blocking the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline on their tribal lands. If completed, the billions of gallons of oil flowing through the pipeline would threaten to contaminate drinking water and violates Sioux sovereignty. Water is life! Oil is death!
Members of the NYU International Socialist Organization will be giving a presentation on their recent solidairity trip to Standing Rock, and discussing what is next for the struggle for indigenous rights and against climate change.
